Vocabulary





Shrug  /ʃrʌɡ/: to move your shoulders up and let them drop to show that you do not know something or do not care
  • The man in the picture shrugs his shoulders.

Snatch /snætʃ/: to quickly steal something from someone
  • The guy with the white hat snatches the bag of the girl in white T-shirt.

Flush /flʌʃ/: if a toilet flushes, water passes through it
  • Don’t flush condoms down the toilet!

Stuff /stʌf/: to push something soft into a space or container

Slip /slɪp/: if you slip, your feet slide accidentally and you lose your balance or fall over
  • He was drunk and slipped on the wet floor. Fortunately, he didn’t break his arms.

Grip /ɡrɪp/: to hold something tightly

Crouch /kraʊtʃ/: to move your body close to the ground by bending your knees and leaning forwards slightly
  • I crouched down to avoid a bullet passing me.

Sprint /sprɪnt/: to run, swim etc at a very fast speed for a short period
  • I sprinted for the last minutes to finish the game.
